• Welcome to Mrs. Egolf's Classroom

I'm so excited about this year at CASHS. Whether you are taking Welding I or Ag Mechanics & Technology, we are sure to have some fun. The great part about taking and teaching an agricultural related course is that there are so many opportunities for hands-on learning. It is my goal for each student to learn something new and to have fun while doing so. Hopefully this will be a great year!!!

A little about myself... I graduated from Greencastle-Antrim High School. While there, I played Field Hockey and Softball and participated in as many fun activities as possible. From there, I went to Penn State Mont Alto to play college level softball for a year.  After spending a year at Mont Alto, I was ready to head to Happy Valley! I spent the next three years studying Agriculture Education, participating in Collegiate FFA, and loving every minute of being at Penn State. During my last semester at Penn State, I had the opportunity to student teach at two different school districts. I was very lucky to get to go back to my hometown and teach Kindergarten through fifth graders Environmental Education at Tayamentasachta. After spending some time there, I then made the trip to teach agricultural education at Gettysburg. Now I'm here with you all, and I'm so excited for this year and what it holds for us all.

  • Courses that I teach

Agricultural Mechanics (1 credit): PREREQUISITE: None.  This year long course is designed for students interested in gaining knowledge and skills in agricultural mechanics. The student will gain skills in safe operation and handling of equipment. The school agricultural shop will be used by the students to explore skills in carpentry, building construction, electricity, small engines, plumbing, masonry, welding and metal fabrication.  The course will address guidelines to career opportunities.

Welding I (0.5 credit): PREREQUISITE: None.  This course will provide students interested in welding with the opportunity to gain skills in cutting, welding, and fabricating metal.  Safe operation and functional skills will be taught.  Stick Electrode, Metal Inert Gas (M.I.G.), plasma cutting and oxy-acetylene welding processes will be covered.  This is a very hands-on course that keeps students actively engaged while preparing them for both local and corporate careers in welding.

Welding II: PREREQUISITE: Completion of Welding Practices and teacher recommendation.   In this course, students will apply basic theory and concepts learned in Welding Practices and Procedures.  Students will continue to explore career opportunities in welding industry.  The goal of this course is to utilize previously learned skills in an advanced context, as well as learning and practicing basic MIG/TIG welding.  This course is a great follow-up course for students seriously pursuing a career in welding, fabrication, repair and maintenance.
