Sports Fan?: YES, I am an ardent supporter of the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, 76ers, and the love of my life, the Philadelphia Flyers
Favorite Movies: This is a hard question for me because I love so many. Near the top would be Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Back to the Future, Field of Dreams, War Games, The New World, and of course, the 6-hour BBC miniseries of Pride and Prejudice. Also anything Wes Anderson!
Favorite Music: The Cure, The Rolling Stones and Aretha Franklin, along with a great collection of independent musicians
Favorite TV Shows: 30 Rock and anything Philly sports and anything dealing with current events
Favorite Books: Fiction: Right now, the Championship title belt goes to The Hunger Games trilogy. How great are they? Otherwise my faves include The Awakening by Kate Chopin, The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt, and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald; Non Fiction: Becoming Jane Austen by John Spence and Lies My Teacher Told Me by James Loewen!
Favorite Vacation Spot: Europe, Ecuador, Canada, and pretty much any island
Why I like History: Growing up, I wanted to be either a detective or a historian. In time, I realized that with the subject of history, I could be both. For me, studying history is like collecting clues from the past in order to understand how people once lived, and from this knowledge, we can hypothesize how we can make our lives better. That is power.
