• I love math!

I'm hoping you already know that so here is a little more information about me.

  • I grew up in a rural neighborhood in Central Pennsylvania. I graduated from Jersey Shore Area School District. Knowing I wanted to be a teacher, Shippensburg University appealed to me as it is known for its teacher education programs. About a month after I earned my undergraduate degree in Mathematics with Secondary Education Certification in 2007, I was offered a job at CASHS. Loving the area and our careers, my husband and I knew we had found our place to call home.

During my first two years of teaching I earned my Masters Degree from Walden University. I continue to take courses periodically in order to grow professionally. During the summer of 2013, before my first year of teaching Calculus, I completed a course at Goucher College in Baltimore, MD: Preparing Students for Advanced Placement® Calculus AB. I took a similar course during the summer of 2017 in order to further advance my understanding of College Board, AP exam requirements, and effective teaching practices for Calculus. I find that my continuing my own education, not only do I get ideas for how to improve my own instruction, but I also remember what it feels like to be a student. I can not forget this if I hope to be an excellent teacher.

In addition to being a teacher, I also am a wife and a mom. I have two sons Caleb and Ian. I love every minute spent with my family.
