Philosophy of Education
Education is a natural life-long process. Teaching provides the opportunity to enhance learning in ways that enrich and stimulate the minds of students helping to prepare them for future experiences and careers.
The classroom needs to be a safe and welcoming place where every student feels valued. It should be a positive learning environment with set rules and effective classroom management procedures. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to inspire and empower my students to search for and discover information that will connect to their schema and benefit them both in the present as well as the future.
As a social studies teacher, it is vitally important for students to have an understanding of the events that have occurred over time throughout the world. If the students of today learn from the experiences of the past they will be better equipped to be productive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow.
