Text Messaging
-
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance communication with parents/guardians, we are pleased to announce that important information and updates will be sent via text (SMS) messages beginning in December. Text messaging is being added to supplement our existing communications methods, such as email, phone calls, social media, and district mobile app.
Please note the following important information:
-
At this initial stage, text messages will only be sent to the primary number listed in your Sapphire account.
-
If your primary number is a landline phone and you wish to receive text messages, please contact your child’s school office to have your number updated to a cell phone.
-
If you’d like your primary number to remain a landline phone, you may still receive instant updates from the district via the CASD Mobile App, which can be downloaded for any iPhone or Android device for free at https://www.casdonline.org/app.

On December 4th, 2023, all parents/guardians with a cell phone number listed as their primary contact will receive a text message announcing the launch of this new communication method. This will serve as a test to ensure that the system is functioning as expected.
-
If, for any reason, you do not wish to receive text messages from the district, you may opt-out by replying to the message with the word "STOP." This will remove you from our text messaging list, while ensuring you continue to receive important information through other communication channels.
We believe that introducing text messaging will provide a more efficient and timely means of communication. This method will only be used for essential announcements such as notification of report cards, absence alerts, and other important information that requires immediate attention.
