A little bit about Ms. Helfrick as a person.

I am from Mechanicsburg and graduated from Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School. After high school, I completed my freshman year of college at SUNY Brockport, where I was a part of the women’s soccer team. After one year at SUNY Brockport, I decided that New York wasn’t right for me, which is why I decided to transfer to Shippensburg University, where I completed an additional four years of undergraduate education. In the spring of 2022 I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Arts in English with a Secondary Education Certification, as well as a minor in Creative Writing and a Technical and Professional Writing Certification. While I was at Shippensburg University, I also served as the President of Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor Society. 

I love to travel and be outside and I’m obsessed with sunsets and beautiful skies. My favorite person to travel with is my older brother Clay! My favorite place I’ve traveled to is Antigua and Barbuda. I love to read and write poetry and I have one poem published on Poets.org. I have a white German Shepherd named Hendrix and he is 5 years old and very smart! My favorite seasons are Summer and Fall and my favorite food is any type of Thai food.
